Welcome to the Office of the Vice Provost for Academic and Space Planning (VPASP) at UC Berkeley.
The Vice Provost position is held by Professor Tsu-Jae King Liu, who began serving in this role on October 1, 2016. The Vice Provost holds a critical leadership position for the Berkeley campus, overseeing the overall academic direction of the university, guiding the development of academic priorities and strategies, and managing a portfolio at the intersection of space and academic program planning.
Our Office works in close collaboration with the schools, colleges, academic community and campus leadership groups, in an integrative role and in support of academic needs and institutional goals. In all these activities, we serve as a creative thought partner across broad academic areas, recognizing and facilitating academic synergies, and supporting the growth and development of current and emerging disciplines.
Our team brings together professional expertise and institutional data pertaining to Academic Program Reviews, Campus Space Planning, Global Engagement, Interdisciplinary Initiatives, and Academic Initiative Planning. In doing so, we produce uniquely comprehensive views and analyses of UC Berkeley’s academic environment.
We encourage you to contact us if you have questions or if we can assist you with your academic and space planning activities.
